A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Embark on a journey through time and technology in the year 3070, where ancient mysteries and futuristic innovation collide. "The Interface" awaits, a sophisticated and enigmatic device that stands between you and the greatest discovery of the age: relics of untold power, hidden throughout the cosmos. In this captivating puzzle adventure, you will use The Interface to scry for these elusive artifacts. Each move on the board is a step deeper into the unknown, where special runes – known as cubes – are the key to unraveling the relics' hiding places. Only by tracing paths to these cubes, through a maze of mystic runes and strategic challenges, can the secrets of the past be brought to light. With each relic uncovered, you unlock fragments of history and technology that could alter the course of civilization. But beware, The Interface is selective in revealing its secrets. Only the most astute and daring explorers will succeed in unveiling the full truth. Are you ready to navigate the complexities of The Interface, to decode its ancient signals and claim the relics as your own? The device used to locate these relics - The Interface - is your portal to discovery. Step forward, and let the journey begin.

How to play

To successfully complete a level, you'll need to uncover all the rotating cubes within the amount of moves you are given. The number of moves depends on how many cubes there are on the board, and are depicted by the gems at the top of the screen.
If you run out of moves, the level will reset and you'll be awarded no points for that attempt.
In order to uncover the cubes, you'll need to build a path by matching runes to them. You can only uncover a rune if it is touching an already uncovered rune (The highlighted hexagons with a circle in the middle). One rune is always uncovered in the beginning at the bottom-centre of the board, so you'll need to start there.
Also, for any remaining moves you have after successfully completing a level, you'll receive 5 points for each one, so that's cool.

Endless vs Adventure Mode

Due to personal time constraints, there's not a whole lot of difference here. Adventure Mode consists of several pre-made levels. Once you've beaten them, it automatically becomes "Endless". Endless Mode is randomly generated boards on a larger scale. Not completely random, however. There will always be a gap between the cubes in an attempt to spread them out. In Endless your goal is simple - beat as many levels as possible with the highest score as possible!

Controls

A majority of the game is mouse driven. The title screen accepts keyboard input, but the mouse also works there. In the game, you can left click to uncover a rune. You'll receive an alert if you attempt to make an invalid move and the rune will shake (thanks steve).
To return back to the title screen, press escape twice within one second. You'll hear an alert sound the first time you press it.

Who made this?

Scry was developed by me, poltergasm, and steveRoll. Steve's additions really motivated me to keep working on this project, and had me enjoy playing it even more.

The fonts

The font used throughout Scry is "Bump IT UP" by Aaron Amar from FontStruction. Licence can be found in the resource directory of the game.
For the information text found at the end of each level, ABeeZee by Anja Meiners was used. It's also used for the text font on this page, excluding the headings.

If, for some reason, you don't have LÖVE installed and you're on Windows, download the .zip file, unzip it and run the exe inside the Scry folder.

This is pretty good, simple but good. I just wish it had either some relaxing or some intense thinking music (like quiz shows) playing.

Thanks! Yeah I tried, but I couldn't find the vibe of music I was looking for. Would have found it eventually, but I ran out of time unfortunately.
